Can You Help a Student Get to the Retreat? Print E-mail

We have received requests for financial help from students who are not in the position to pay for a spot but who would really like to be a part of the retreat experience in order to receive the doctrine and meet other like-minded gnostics and instructors.

For some, this will be the first time that they are around other gnostics. It was an invaluable experience for many last year and we would like to help as many students as possible to have this opportunity.

Go to the Gnostic Store to sponsor a student.

Please consider helping the following student(s):

Student 1: Last year's retreat was an unforgettable experience; it helped to really deepen my practical work and it was wonderful to be around such inspiring and like-minded spiritual individuals! I would love to attend again this year to further intensify my knowledge and practical experience of this work, as well as to reunite with 'old friends', but my income is still extremely meager (starving artist/grandmother). If there is help available in the form of a sponsorship, I would be exceedingly grateful. Thank you...

Student 2: I spend a good amount of time studying gnosis and have never met anyone at this site or in the schools yet. I'm a licensed General Contractor in California. I have always had plenty of money until recently when about 2 and a half years ago I went through a major experience that changed my life completely. Something very strange happened to me. Some kind of awakening took place and I was able to see certain things and became aware of different dimensions. This lead me to completely change everything in my life. I couldn't work with all this going on so I quit and did a lot of meditating and traveling. It has been up and down and all around since then with a steep learning curve and plenty of pitfalls and stumbles along the way. Gnosis came into my life about 2 years ago this summer. I feel very strongly about what is taught here and the great importance of spreading it, learning it, and meeting like minded individuals. Trying to get a hold of life and balancing all that I am now is my goal.

Student 3: I started studying Gnosis alone by myself in Latin America where I was attending the university in past years but I never had the opportunity to experience meeting with other fellow Gnostics until I had the chance to participate in a Glorian retreat. Does not matter how many books I read before, the retreat experience was one of the best things that happened to me and really changed my life. Now I am a graduate student at The University of Florida and the travel from Florida to New York is something I barely can afford, not having enough to afford also the retreat inscription. This is why I am asking you for your help to participate on the Gnostic Retreat 2009 and have the opportunity to learn by doing from some of the best teachers.

Student 4: Being raised in an evangelical background, I had been searching for Gnosis since I was very young although I did not have a name for it. Several years ago, I decided it did not exist. I turned my back on god when he called me, convinced I was going to find satisfaction in the glory the world could offer me. This didn't work. Within a couple of years, my life was spinning out of control until I decided I couldn't handle it any longer. I began to pray again, pleading for assistance and several days later I was in a coffee shop and saw a flyer for gnosis. My ears began to ring and my heart filled with joy for the first time in years. I knew this was it. I attended the course on happiness at our local library and knew I had found what I'd been looking for since I was a child. I cried and prayed the entire walk home. My journey with Gnosis over these six-months has been pleasantly difficult. When cleaning a large mess, things get dirtier before they can be clean. Of course, I can't quite describe where I've been or where I'm now because I don't have the verbal capacity nor the desire at this moment. I just know I've experienced a great relief. To feel and know in my heart that I always have my being/god/mother/father/etc. to depend on makes everything much easier. In the horizontal plane, my life is leaps and bounds better than it has been since I was a child and every day (although some days are difficult) gets better than the last and I know that I can never go back. I've seen what the material world has to offer me and it isn't enough. I have higher standards and can no longer accept living through my egos. This is where my work mostly lies at this point. Meditation is key to my success and although I have a steady and dedicated practice, I would like to go deeper and experience more. Being in groups has really been a blessing and to meditate and have fellowship with other gnostics from around the world would be amazing. I am in graduate school for interdisciplinary elementary education while I nanny and do a variety of other jobs to pay the bills so I do not have nearly the amount needed to pay for the gnostic retreat. I can swing a plane or bus ticket but would greatly appreciate a scholarship for the camping option.
